Goucher College's new Athenaeum and Library building is the physical center of the campus, and with its open forum, community service center, and commuter lounge, it also serves as the figurative heart of the academic community. The College requested a donor recognition system that speaks to their mission of "Education Without Boundaries". A unique way that the college accomplishes this is through their required study abroad program.

 

The design of the donor signage takes its cues from the art, textiles, and historic patterns of the different cultures that the study abroad program introduces to students. Glass and bronze are used to reflect the architecture of the new Athenaeum. The overall effect is of a cohesive system that speaks to both the physical surroundings and the culture of the school.
